To their credit, our team really toughed out a win with the result coming down to Connor Chant,\u00a0playing at number three, winning his match on the 17th hole.<\/p>\n<p>Henry Duregon at seven was off to an ordinary start, being two holes down early and having trouble reading the greens, but he gradually fought his way back into the match to get the upper hand\u00a0on the back nine and close out the match out 2\/1.\u00a0This\u00a0result gave us a good start for the following matches.<\/p>\n<p>Josh Hayes followed Henry at six and with head pro, Shane Robinson, on the bag,\u00a0Josh played very well to win his match 4\/2 and continue his good form from last week. The last two weeks will certainly have boosted his confidence and he should finish the remainder of the season very strongly.<\/p>\n<p>At number five, David Hiern, by his own admission, did not play well, but saying that, he only lost 2\/1 and I am sure he will bounce back to\u00a0find\u00a0his winning form from Highercombe in the first match of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Leigh Attenborough used all his experience of some twenty years as a member at Blackwood before joining Glenelg some 10 years ago,\u00a0won his match convincingly 5\/4 and gave the team the three early wins we were looking for\u00a0to set us up for a team win.<\/p>\n<p>Connor Chant\u00a0 had a good battle at number three, with his finess and good course management overcoming the brut power of his Tea Tree Gully opponent. The quiet man of the team is playing well and I feel sure can continue his good form.<\/p>\n<p>Matt Overall (number two) had an interesting\u00a0battle getting off to a poor start to be down three holes early only to then win three holes to be back square, and then lose two holes again. This trend continued for the whole match for Matt\u00a0to eventually lose 2 down at the 18th. Matt will be disappointed with this result and will be hungry to redeem himself next match.<\/p>\n<p>Captain and number one player, Campbell Rawson, had a mammoth battle against former SA Amateur Champion, Chris Austin, who has not lost a pennant match for\u00a0two years, with a halved match. This contest produced some great ball striking and birdies aplenty and either player would have been unlucky to lose.
