Glenelg 6 defeated West Lakes 1 at Tea Tree Gully Golf Club
<\/b><\/p>\n

Glenelg needed a big victory this week and that is exactly what happened, defeating a less experienced West Lakes outfit 6 matches to 1.<\/p>\n

Liam and Jackson lead Glenelg off playing steady golf, pouncing on any West Lakes errors to be leading 3 up and 2 up respectively after 6 holes.\u00a0 By the 12th hole they had doubled their leads and their matches finished soon after.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0 new pairing of Jack Buchannan and Josh Hodgson found themselves both 1 down after 6 holes.\u00a0 By the 12th, the scores had not changed as their opponents were playing well. Jack B turned on the screws paring 5 out of the last 6 holes wearing down his opponent, returning a fighting 2\/1 victory.\u00a0 Josh was having to make pars just to halve holes and could not turn his match losing for the first time this season.<\/p>\n

Aaron Buchannan and Jack Tanner needed their calculators to keep track of their matches giving up 25 and 24 shots to their opposition. Aaron was square after 6 holes before turning on the Bunsen burner to be 3 up by the 12th and holding on to post our fourth victory of the day by the 16th hole.\u00a0 Jack Tanner was playing great golf, birdying holes 2 and 8, hitting greens in regulation all day to keep his opponent out of the match and chalking up yet another victory for us.<\/p>\n

Lachie Roberts was 1 up after 6 and 2 up after 12.\u00a0 Lachie\u2019s golf is improving each week and needed to fight hard against his female opposition, giving up 12 strokes and distance advantage to hold on for a 1 up victory, closing off a great afternoon for the Glenelg juniors.<\/p>\n

We take a break next week as many of our Juniors are teeing up at the Jack Newton International.\u00a0 Representing Glenelg will be Sam Raschella, Will Starkey, Matilda Wheare, Jackson Kalz, Liam Kennewell, Jack Tanner, Aaron Buchannan and Jack Buchannan.\u00a0 All the best!<\/p>\n
