The challenge was set. A convincing win with lots of holes to be won was the target\u2026\u2026 JOB DONE.<\/p>\n

Another lovely day for golf with mainly sunny skies and a gentle breeze. Royal Adelaide was playing long from the back tees but the greens were playing very truly with some tricky pin spots in play.<\/p>\n

Signs were good early. The Vines players had the honour from the first tee but by the 3rd tee, Glenelg players had the honour in every match except for one.\u00a0 For most of the day we held a 5-2 advantage.<\/p>\n

James Brown at No.6 was 4 up after five and went on to win 5\/4. A magnificent birdie 2 on the tough 12th hole thwarted a little comeback from his opponent (Matt Whitford).<\/p>\n

Will Starkey at No.5 continued his excellent season and was 3 up after seven and went on to win 7\/5. Another display of solid ball striking and great putting from Will.<\/p>\n

Lee Cole at No. 4 had quite a battle through the first eight holes \u2013 this match halved the 1st, 3rd and 8th holes in birdies \u2013 great golf from both players with Lee being 1 up after eight.\u00a0 Lee then maintained his solid play and went on to win 4\/3. Both Lee and Will have now recorded three out of three wins for the season.<\/p>\n

David Hiern at No. 1 just played superbly \u2013 he hit the ball as well as we know he can and putted soundly. He just never gave his opponent a look in \u2013 6 up after seven reflected his early play and David went on to win 8\/7 \u2013 a very comfortable win.<\/p>\n

The other 3 matches were a bit tighter: \u00a0<\/p>\n

Michael Ratajewski at No. 7 had another absorbing tussle all day \u2013 some loose shots early from Rat saw him 2 down after six (then Paul Duregon started caddying for him) – got him to one down after twelve \u2013 then Rat got back to square, and won 15 and 16 to get to 2 up and holed a nice ten footer (again) to win his game 2\/1 \u2013 Good caddy job Paul!<\/p>\n

Matty Mudford at No. 3 was either one up or two up for most of the day. Still two up playing 17, he hit a masterful second shot to three feet of the hole and duly holed it to record a 3\/1 win.<\/p>\n

We now had six wins on the board with Luke Bashford at No. 2 still playing \u2013 in a high quality game Luke was down for most of his game but playing well. He recovered from two down after seven to get back to square after 15, but then lost 16 to go one down but got back to square with a win on 17. Both players hit the green on the 18th for two and both had similar putts from about 30 feet. The Vines player putted first and gave his putt every chance only to see it finish behind the lip of the hole \u2013 then Luke hit virtually an identical putt, again had a chance to go in but also left it sitting behind the hole on the lip \u2013 match all square.<\/p>\n

Thanks again to all caddies for their support to the players.<\/p>\n

The challenge continues!\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026..Next Sunday we play Kooyonga at Kooyonga from 11.15am. Our big round three win leaves us on top of the Bonnar Cup table. A win next Sunday (or even a tie) will put us in the box seat to make the final with only three matches to go \u2013 a loss will put us back amongst the pack – SEIZE THE MOMENT \u2013 NOW IS OUR TIME. Great effort to date lads \u2013 let\u2019s keep the momentum going.<\/p>\n
