The College of Elite Golf has recently announced the expansion and relocation of its golf program with new campuses to be established at one of our reciprocal clubs, Bonnie Doon Golf Club in Sydney, and at Sandhurst Club in Melbourne\u2019s south-east.<\/p>\n
The decision to establish two new campuses in the eastern states comes following delays in planning approval with the proposed training facility, to be built by the College on the southern boundary of Adelaide Airport, adjacent our Club.<\/p>\n
The golf program will not be delivered in South Australia in 2012, although discussions are continuing with various clubs in Adelaide for the program to return in 2013.<\/p>\n
In a recent email to College Students, the Club took the opportunity to thank them for their contribution to Glenelg Golf Club during their stay here as a member of the College of Elite Golf. We have also encouraged students to remain members of the Club should their circumstances permit.<\/p>\n
Late last year, the Club advised the College of its decision to limit the use of our practice facilities for delivery of the College program in 2012. We did offer the Club as a membership base for College students should the program remain in Adelaide, but we understand this would have been logistically difficult to manage and we respect that decision.<\/p>\n
While disappointing for the Club to see the College move interstate, we congratulate and support them on their decision to expand the program and establish campuses in Melbourne and Sydney. Both locations are quality facilities and will continue to assist students greatly in the development of their golf.<\/p>\n
We have no doubt the program will continue to grow and Glenelg Golf Club is very proud to have been a foundation supporter of the program for the last five years. Our commitment to growing the game of golf remains as strong as ever and we expect to continue to promote and support the College program in the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
