\"\"<\/a>Glenelg’s Jenny Lee faces the toughest battle of her stellar career on Sunday in the final of the Australian Women’s Amateur Championship being played at Commonwealth Golf Club in Melbourne.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jenny faces Australia’s number one female amateur golfer, Minjee Lee (WA) in the 36 hole final commencing at 8:30am on Sunday. \u00a0Jenny, who just recently [intlink id=”1958″ type=”post”]missed out on winning her third successive SA Junior Amateur Championship[\/intlink], will be hoping to go one better and celebrate her recent 17th birthday in style.<\/p>\n

Jenny is the first South Australian to make the final of Australian Women’s Amateur since Susie Mathews in 2001, and the first Glenelg member to make the final since Tamie Durdin in 1996. \u00a0If successful, she will be the first South Australian to win it since Anne Marie-Knight took the title in 1993.<\/p>\n

It will be an all-Lee affair in the final with Minjee\u00a0making her second appearance in the final,and who will be looking to go one better after her narrow loss in 2011.<\/p>\n

Jenny defeated Kiwi Julianne Alvarez in the quarter final before beating Hannah Green (WA) 2&1 in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Minjee recorded a 3&2 win over Japan\u2019s Kotone Hori before a dominant 7&5 win over Julienne Soo (VIC).<\/p>\n

The Australian Women\u2019s Amateur champion earns an exemption into the ISPS Handa Women\u2019s Australian Open at Royal Canberra in February.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Men’s division, national squad members Cameron Smith (QLD) and Geoff Drakeford (VIC) will face off in the Australian Men\u2019s Amateur Championship final.<\/p>\n

The pair advanced through quarter and semi finals on Saturday to their first Australian Amateur final.<\/p>\n

Drakeford, a Commonwealth member, defeated Dylan Perry (NSW) in the quarter final before beating Kiwi Sam An 6&4 to reach the final.<\/p>\n

Smith defeated Kiwi Blair Riordan 3&2 the semi final after accounting for Englishman Neil Raymond in the morning quarter final.<\/p>\n

The 36 hole final begins at 8.45am with the second 18 commencing at 1.15pm<\/p>\n

The Australian Men\u2019s Amateur champion earns an exemption into the 2013 Emirates Australian Open.<\/p>\n
