Jack joined Glenelg Golf Club as a Junior in 2012 at the age of 12. He quickly showed he had a strong talent for golf and 7 years later was accepted to play golf at College in the United States.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Glenelg Golf Club’s Junior pathway program has been a big part of Jack’s success, along with the support from the ProShop, Managers, Members and Junior Foundation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Jack sent a letter to the Club outlining his amazing achievements along the way (see below). We wish Jack all the best over the next 4 years at College and look forward to having him back at the Club in the break.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Four\u200b \u200byears\u200b \u200bago\u200b \u200bwas the\u200b \u200bbiggest,\u200b \u200blife-\u200bchanging\u200b \u200bmoment for\u200b\u200b myself in golf!\u200b \u200bAfter \u200b\u200b35 \u200b\u200bholes,\u200b \u200bI\u200b \u200bfinally sank\u200b \u200ba\u200b \u200b5\u200b \u200bfoot \u200bwinning\u200b putt \u200bto\u200b \u200bwin \u200bthe\u200b \u200bmatch 3 and 1 against Anthony Olsen a seasoned veteran of Glenelg.\u200b \u200bI\u200b \u200bwas\u200b \u200bnow\u200b\u200b the\u200b \u200byoungest\u200b \u200b\u200bever\u200b \u200bin\u200b \u200bhistory,\u200b \u200bMen\u2019s\u200b \u200bClub\u200b Champion,\u200b\u200b \u200bat\u200b \u200b14 years \u200bof\u200b \u200bage. I am extremely proud and honoured to have my name on the honour board along with some other greats of the Club.<\/p>\n
Through the generosity of the Glenelg Junior Foundation and Golf SA I was lucky to have some assistance in travelling overseas to play golf. I\u2019ve represented Glenelg, South Australia, and Australia in San Diego, Las Vegas and Japan. I also attended the Golf Australia Camp in Houston, Texas last year.<\/p>\n
When I joined at the age of 12 there was only 3 of us juniors playing comps. Liam Kennewell, Jackson Kalz and myself. Now 2 of us are over in the US attending college!<\/p>\n
I would like to personally thank some amazing people at Glenelg. Everyone has been so welcoming and I\u2019ve made lifetime friends. Personally I want to say a big thanks to David Brand who was GM when I started and a big supporter of the Junior Program. He initiated a lot of golf camps interstate that were really fun and rewarding. He also was a big supporter of the Junior Foundation and that\u2019s why we had so many juniors join Glenelg. Last Pennant season he came out every week to caddy for me in his own time and has become a good mentor and mate. Ian and Cathy Symons have been 3rd<\/sup> grandparents to me at the Club and I\u2019m going to miss the banter from Symo.<\/p>\nWhen I started playing at Glenelg, Adrian Wickstein was one of the Pro\u2019s and has coached and guided me ever since. He was a big help in my USA College pursuit and I owe him a lot for his support over the years. I\u2019m going to miss all the Juniors I\u2019ve grown up with at the Club. I was lucky to play with some great golfers who pushed and challenged me to keep getting better.<\/p>\n
I left Adelaide on Thursday the 15th<\/sup> of August to \u200battend\u200b \u200bCollege at South Dakota State University on a 4-year scholarship\u200b to\u200b \u200bpursue\u200b \u200ba\u200b Business\u200b \u200bDegree. Ironically their nickname is \u201cJack Rabbits\u201d.<\/p>\nI\u2019ll be back home at Christmas and again for Pennant next year!<\/p>\n
