{"id":19645,"date":"2018-08-06T15:07:22","date_gmt":"2018-08-06T05:37:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glenelggolf.com\/cms\/?p=19645"},"modified":"2023-06-20T15:43:23","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T06:13:23","slug":"club-notice-appointment-of-general-manager","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glenelggolf.com\/cms\/2018\/08\/club-notice-appointment-of-general-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"CLUB NOTICE: Appointment of General Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-9942 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.glenelggolf.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/NEW-Glenelg-Golf-Club-logo-123C-150x119.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"119\" \/>Glenelg Golf Club is pleased to announce the appointment of David Brooks\u00a0as the Club\u2019s new General Manager. \u00a0After an extensive recruitment process David was the unanimous choice of the Committee of Management\u00a0selection panel.<\/p>\n<p>David is a successful leader with a proven track record in sport management and business. \u00a0He is currently a Board Member at Mount Osmond Golf Club and chairs the Business Development Committee. \u00a0David has worked with the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League\u00a0as well as ongoing Committee roles with Norwood Football Club\u00a0and Table Tennis Australia. \u00a0By participating in the global\u00a0leading Master\u00a0of Business\u00a0(Sport Management) program at Deakin\u00a0University, David has\u00a0had the\u00a0opportunity to collaborate with leading US professional sport organisations such as San Diego Padres, San Francisco 49ers and Sacramento Kings.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s3\">David\u2019s professional career spans over<\/span><span class=\"s3\">\u00a030 years of\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s3\">marketing, commercial\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s3\">and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s3\">leadership roles spread across\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s3\">automotive, telecommu<\/span><span class=\"s3\">nications and retail industries with exposure to both domestic and international markets.<\/span><span class=\"s4\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s3\">Academically he has<\/span><span class=\"s3\">\u00a0completed a Bachelor of Engineering at University of Adelaide as well as an MBA at Monash University.<\/span><span class=\"s4\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In 2016, David sold his share of The Good Guys Mile End and retired from the organisation at the same time after 14 successful years as Managing Director.<\/p>\n<p>We are confident David will be a\u00a0huge asset to our Club, both in terms of his\u00a0people management skills and his knowledge of contemporary sports management practices. \u00a0He\u00a0has an impressive Resume and should be an excellent cultural fit with the Club\u00a0and our Membership.<\/p>\n<p>I am sure that all members will\u00a0offer David a warm welcome when he commences with the Club on Monday, 20th August.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bevan Roberts<\/strong><br \/>\nCaptain<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Glenelg Golf Club is pleased to announce the appointment of David Brooks as the Club\u2019s new General Manager.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":22,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[15],"tags":[154,222],"class_list":["post-19645","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-guests-news","tag-club-notice","tag-member-notice"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
