Our Sanderson Cup team played Kooyonga at Kooyonga and were out to improve on the defeat in round one. Unfortunately, despite 3 players going down 18 we were defeated 3 – 2 in a very close contest.<\/p>\n

Jill Hodge, <\/strong>played at number 5 this week in the hope of an early decisive team lead. The plan worked well with Jill winning 6\/4 \u2013 and shooting under the card after the front 9.<\/p>\n

Matilda Wheare, <\/strong>at number 4, had a close contest all day, being 1 up or down most of the match. One down heading down 18 and aggressively trying to secure a half, Tilly sadly lost 18 to lose her match 2 down.<\/p>\n

Sarah Crocker <\/strong>played at number 3 this week and despite being 2 down from the 4th was never concerned. She was back to 1 down after 14 and square after 16 thanks to a great par from Sarah and a missed putt under pressure from her opponent. Still square going down 18 Sarah had a lucky break with a drop from an immoveable obstruction after her drive and a great up and down from the greenside bunker giving her a par. Her opponent could only manage a bogey and Sarah won 1 up.<\/p>\n

Charley Jacobs, <\/strong>was thrust into the number 2 spot this week and produced the highlight of the day with a hole in one on the 3rd hole. For the remainder of her match Charley fought well against her old coach and very experienced ex-pro Haley Hunt, but was beaten 4\/3.<\/p>\n

Elysia Yap<\/strong>, at number 1, also had a very close match all day and managed to be square after 16 but a poor 17th saw her 1 down heading down the last. With Elysia on the green for 2 and her opponent in a bunker, things looked hopeful, however, a superb bunker shot to centimetres for a par from her opponent meant Elysia needed her birdie putt to drop to halve her match. Unfortunately it didn\u2019t and she lost 1 down.<\/p>\n
