Well how do I sum the match against Country Districts at Kooyonga Golf Club? The answer is simple – very impressive.<\/p>\n

What made it so impressive, firstly a 3\/2 win, but most impressive apart from Darcy, was everyone else was down well into the back nine, so the teams result was well earned.<\/p>\n

Darcy Burns<\/strong> playing at no. 5 won 5\/4. Dominant from the start he drove beautiful all day and played some very smart golf. Darcy\u2019s second shot on the 9th would’ve deflated most opposition. A stirring win.<\/p>\n

Calvin Perks<\/strong> playing at no. 4 won 2\/1. Calvin was always going to be tough to beat especially with Ashley (Dad) caddying. A great battle against a big hitting opponent. Calvin was down for most of the match but turned it around with only a few holes to play. A hard fought out well deserved win.<\/p>\n

Mitch Ward<\/strong> playing at no. 3 halved his match. Not the result Mitch was happy with but was 2 down with only a handful of holes to play, then end up standing on the 18th 1 up. Unfortunately, a short 2nd\u00a0into 18 cost Mitch the halve for a 2\/1 win. He hung in there on a somewhat frustrating day – typical Mitch character.<\/p>\n

Harry Edwards<\/strong> playing at no. 2 lost 3\/2. He played ok, but unfortunately for Harry his opponent played well all day. Harry did get to 1 up on the back nine, but unfortunately a couple of wayward shots probably was the difference in Harry not bringing home a result. Plenty to be happy about.<\/p>\n

Josh Gumm<\/strong> playing at no. 1 halved his match. With Josh 4 down with 7 to play, a draw looked like the most likely result. What makes his result so impressive was he knew standing on the 16th tee 3 down what he had to do if we had any chance for a result. This was no easy task for someone who had battled with his game for a good portion of the day. Winning 16, 17 and 18 was not going to be easy against an opponent who played solid all day, but Josh did and his 4 foot testing putt on 18 for the match win brought some well-deserved applause from our team. Great 3 hole finish Josh.<\/p>\n

Thank you to Harry Morrissy, Lachlan Murphy, Kane Hyams and parents for all your support, and I know the players really appreciated it.<\/p>\n
