{"id":12663,"date":"2016-03-22T20:17:06","date_gmt":"2016-03-22T09:47:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.glenelggolf.com\/cms\/?p=12663"},"modified":"2023-06-20T15:44:06","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T06:14:06","slug":"yap-shines-in-2nd-round-of-rene-erichsen-salver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.glenelggolf.com\/cms\/2016\/03\/yap-shines-in-2nd-round-of-rene-erichsen-salver\/","title":{"rendered":"Yap shines in 2nd round of Rene Erichsen Salver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/t4EeftS6AoQ?autoplay=1\" width=\"530\" height=\"298\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Glenelg&#8217;s Elysia Yap has carded one of the best rounds of her career, a 2-under par 71, to be in a tie for second place following the 2nd round of the Rene Erichsen Salver being played at Royal Adelaide Golf Club this week.<\/p>\n<p>Yap shares second place with Shina Kanazawa (Japan) and Olivia Kline (Vic), the later firing the low round of the day, a four-under 69, but the grouping still trails Robyn Choi from RACV Royal Pines in Queensland, who leads by two strokes, after rounds of 71,72 to be 3-under the card.<\/p>\n<p>Yap was surprised with her form, which included four birdies today, three on the back nine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"quotation\">\u201cIt\u2019s the first time I have been under par at a major tournament\u201d Yap said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Choi who only turned 18 last week, fired four birdies in the second round, on holes two, four, nine and 15, but struggled on the 18th, again making bogey.\u00a0 Choi said she will have one eye on her opposition in round three, but also try and focus on the play ahead.<\/p>\n<p>In the Golf SA Classic, Glenelg&#8217;s contingent faltered somewhat in the second round, with Sam Earl and Lachlan Barker carding a 36-hole total of 3-over, trailing Harrison Endycott (NSW) who moved into the outright lead at 7-under par, after posting an impressive second round 69 to go with his opening round 68.<\/p>\n<p>Teeing off this morning from the 8th tee in perfect conditions, Endycott was three-under through nine holes once again making birdie on holes 13 and 15.
