Junior Membership & Golf

What will it cost me?

To help in promoting junior golf, Entrance Fees for Junior and Intermediate members are substantially discounted from the Entrance Fee paid by adult members.  Importantly, there will be no additional Entrance Fee for Junior Members, should they progress into Provisional or Full membership.

The entrance fee is payable in instalments, negotiated between yourself and the Club, provided that 50% of the total entrance fee is paid by the age of 21. The remainder is to be paid by the age of 25.  The younger you join, the longer you have to pay your Entrance Fee.

Junior Tigers Golf Program

The Junior Tigers Golf Program provides a development pathway for young golfers in Adelaide, from Beginner through to Junior Cadets and finally to Junior Membership at Glenelg Golf Club.

The structured six-level program applies the motto, “A Skill, A Rule & An Etiquette” and each session completed will involve these three areas.

Junior Playing Rights

Juniors have rights to the tee on Sunday mornings after junior clinics. This means it’s all about you with no adults around!

Juniors can play in every Saturday competition provided you have an A Grade handicap (12 or less for boys, 18 or less for girls). Otherwise, you can play one Saturday competition per month (depending on handicap and skill level), or at any time after 1:30pm.

Playing other golf courses, and visiting other golfing facilities is important in progressing your game. Consequently, we provide Junior Members as many opportunities as possible, to play golf at other courses and to meet other junior golfers around the state and country.

These trips are a great, fun way to make new friends at other clubs and to gain experiences playing courses other than your own. This also gives you the chance to show other golfers what you have got!

Furthermore, as a junior member at Glenelg Golf Club you have the ability to play at any number of our Reciprocal Clubs nationally and internationally. Click here for a full list of Reciprocal Clubs.
