Our Role in Golf

Glenelg Golf Club has played an important role for golf in South Australia since it was established in 1927.

The Club has successfully hosted many amateur and professional golf tournaments in its history and has been highly regarded and commended by participants, officials and spectators alike on the professionalism displayed by the Club as a tournament host.

Glenelg Golf Club also has a proud history of supporting golf at a local, state and national level.  The Club has always been at the forefront of supporting state golf programs, elite level golf programs and providing support internally for our own emerging players.

State Squads

Provision of training facilities for Golf SA state squads, including the Men’s and Women’s State Teams, and Junior Teams.

Australian College of Elite Golf

Foundation supporter of the Australian College of Elite Golf from 2006 to 2011, including provision of a membership base for students, training and education facilities, and integration and support into club golf for interstate students.

Women’s Golf

Implemented and managed Women’s Try Golf Programs since 2009.  More planned programs in coming years with over 500 women having experienced the program to date.

Junior Development Program

Ongoing support of our emerging Junior talent through the Glenelg Golf Club Foundation:

  • including over $130,000 in financial support for competition entry fees, elite level coaching and local/interstate junior trips;
  • Over 150 current and former junior members have received some level of financial support through our Junior Development Program
  • Junior Tigers Golf Program, providing coaching clinics on Wednesdays and Sundays
