Senior Pennant Team End to the Season

Senior Pennant Team End to the Season

On Monday, Glenelg played the last Senior Pennant game against Aston Hills at The Stirling, but disappointingly, we lost 5.5 to 1.5. Congrats to Grant Edwards on his solid win and well done Brian Welsh on a hard fought half.

A disappointing finish to the season as we won our first four games, then lost our last four.

I would like to thank all those that played throughout the season and who gave their best in representing the club.

It turned out to be a long and frustrating season – due to injury, “old age niggles”, travel, family and work related commitments, we struggled to maintain team momentum with numerous playing changes each week – but every week, we gave it our best shot and represented the club proudly.

The semi finals are to be played this Monday at The Vines with Blackwood playing Royal Adelaide and Tea Tree Gully playing The Vines. The winners will play off in the Grand Final the following Monday from 1pm at Grange East.

Once again, a BIG THANK YOU to you all the team’s efforts throughout the season – I’m pretty sure there will be a different format for next season which should see a much shorter and more competitive season.

Good golfing to all!

Wayne Humphries,
Senior Pennant Team Manager
