Glenelg Golf Club is pleased to announce the appointment of David Brooks as the Club’s new General Manager. After an extensive recruitment process David was the unanimous choice of the Committee of Management selection panel.
David is a successful leader with a proven track record in sport management and business. He is currently a Board Member at Mount Osmond Golf Club and chairs the Business Development Committee. David has worked with the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League as well as ongoing Committee roles with Norwood Football Club and Table Tennis Australia. By participating in the global leading Master of Business (Sport Management) program at Deakin University, David has had the opportunity to collaborate with leading US professional sport organisations such as San Diego Padres, San Francisco 49ers and Sacramento Kings.
David’s professional career spans over 30 years of marketing, commercial and leadership roles spread across automotive, telecommunications and retail industries with exposure to both domestic and international markets. Academically he has completed a Bachelor of Engineering at University of Adelaide as well as an MBA at Monash University.
In 2016, David sold his share of The Good Guys Mile End and retired from the organisation at the same time after 14 successful years as Managing Director.
We are confident David will be a huge asset to our Club, both in terms of his people management skills and his knowledge of contemporary sports management practices. He has an impressive Resume and should be an excellent cultural fit with the Club and our Membership.
I am sure that all members will offer David a warm welcome when he commences with the Club on Monday, 20th August.
