LOCAL RULE: Drop Stakes

Members are advised that effective Friday, 1st June 2018 the Club will be introducing DROP STAKES to replace the existing painted drop zones applying to the clubhouse & maintenance compound and the western carpark.

The Clubhouse & Maintenance Compound (as defined by black stakes/lines and the outer edges of connecting paved areas) and the Western Carpark are IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS and players must proceed as follows:

If it is known or virtually certain that a player’s ball has come to rest within either the Clubhouse and Maintenance Compound or the Western Carpark a ball must be dropped within one club-length of the drop stake nearest to the point where the ball last crossed the margin of the defined obstruction, without penalty. [Refer to Rules 24-2.a and 20-2.c(v) and (vi)]

Drop stakes are immovable obstructions and if the ball when dropped comes to rest in a position where the stake interferes with the lie of the ball or the player’s stance or swing or the ball comes to rest more than two club-lengths from where it first struck the ground, ball must be re-dropped in accordance with Rule 20-2.c(v) and (vi) respectively and the general provisions of Rule 20-2.c.
