McMillan Shield Team defeated by West Lakes

Unfortunately the McMillan Shield Team went down 5 – 2 at West Lakes in what can only be described as near perfect conditions to enjoy a game of golf.

The team gave up nearly 60 shots to its opposition and it was a credit to all competitors for keeping their games all within a 1 or 3 hole difference.

Congratulations to Joshua McBride 5/4 and Kade Bryant 4/3 for their well earnt wins.  Great win boys!

Jade Kinita played hard but lost her match 6/5 and other team members Corey Paparella 2/1, Jack Leonard 3/2, Eric Liao 1 down, Bill Darker 2/1 all narrowly missed their wins.  Every team member displayed sportsmanship, courage and resilience.

Congratulations to Thomas Wu and Jack Leonard for playing their first ever match, again, they did the club proud.

By far the stand out of the day were the Glenelg team members who supported or caddied for their playing team mates. Holly Burns, Eliza Baker, Yike Ma and Tyson McLuckie, the way these members carried themselves and represented Glenelg Golf Club was nothing but amazing.  Much appreciated, for sure.

Next round will be off the 1st tee at 11:45am against Tea Tree Gully on Sunday, 25th February at the The Vines Golf Club.
