Sharp Cup team back-to-back in 2017

On Sunday the Sharp Cup team played in the Final of the Sharp Cup against Kooyonga at Flagstaff Hill Golf Club. On a well presented course the team had an exceptional 3 – 2 win to secure the 2017 Pennant.

Aaron Buchanan lead the boys out at No. 5 taking a commanding lead from early in the match. Aaron played some great golf and was able to secure the first win of the day 7/6.

At No. 1 Liam Kennewell played exceptional golf, including a “career shot” . Liam secured the second win of the day 6/5. 

Harry Edwards played at No. 2 and Marcus Kuys played at No. 3, both boys tried their best but unfortunately recorded 2/1 losses.

With the score at two matches all, the fate of Glenelg’s Sharp Cup Season for 2017 was resting in the hands of our No. 4 player Mitchell Ward. With a significant gallery watching his match as it went down the 18th hole, Mitchell played solid golf to record a win 1 up. Well done mate!

To the Team’s credit they won every contest of the 2017 season, a feat that that they also achieved in 2016, resulting in back to back Sharp Cup victories.

The Sharp Cup team would also like to thank all the parents, family and friends that supported the team on and off course throughout the season.
